Words from Marianne Williamson

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Mr. Karl Lagerfeld's Spring Haute Couture collection for Chanel

was All white.

White as in pure, innocent, virgin and beauty.

A start a' new? A new beginning. A birth.

Certainly a world of simplicity, one that deserve growth leading on to a new road. The road not yet taken.

Wonderful.

Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring 2009

Monsieur Galliano's Spring Haute Couture collection for the house of Christian Dior brings Scarlet and Gone with the Wind to mind.

This with a mix of a Flemish 1700's painting.

Even the costume drama in The Duchess!!!

The colors, volume, hats, the hair and frills brings all the above together. Oh what I have Looonged for beauty, like this. It brings hope about the future to come.

Inspiration/designs like this is The reason I became a stylist, because of talents like Mr. John Galliano.

Sarah Moon

A book, Sarah Moon 1 2 3 4 5, was released by Thames & Hudson on the 13th of October 2008. Comprising of 5 notebooks assembled in a slip-cased box, and including over 400 images, the publication has unveiled the most public and personal moments of Sarah Moon’s professional life, her intentions, her friendships, her heroes, her taste for colour and her passion for the cinema.

“In the world of Sarah Moon, life and death are woven together in the same cloth. They are without frontiers. For both, the world is a child grown old in a day. It is not blood, but dreams that run through their veins. Everywhere beauty is the outlet of loneliness it is its patina. Beauty is to loss what humour is to despair; a politeness. Melancholy in evening dress.” Dominique Eddé

Ladytron

I went to see Lukas Moodysson's new movie today, Mammoth starring Michelle Williams and Gael Garcia Bernal.

What stood out in this movie, which made the movie powerful was among other things, the music. That of Ladytron.

First time I heard them was on a shoot with Martina Olsson, she had downloaded Destroy Everything You Touch, which I fell in love with at once.

Here is Destroy Everything You Touch:

Their website is HERE.

And their Myspace is HERE.

I Always listen to them when I'm out walking in the morning.

Enjoy!!

Rita Saardi

"Inspiration is a complicated thing... Especially when you can't afford your Imagination...
That's why I always work on my collection one or two month before the deadline otherwise I would get too depressed knowing that I would want to take my ideas further then the limitations of my sewing skills and what I can afford to buy in material... this is frustrating, people think that fashion designers are always in a creative mood and that life is a walk on roses, it's not, I have so many ideas and so litle time to work on things add to that my limitations in sewing and draping plus my poor economy and you have what I call " La mort de l'inspiration" the death of inspiration...
For all of you BAD designers out there with time, money and a staff you should be ashamed of what you're doing to the lovely fabrics you can afford and the priceless workmanship your money can allow you to abuse of...

For my Between Heaven and Earth collection I maneged to keep the inspiration alive even though the deadline and the economy was eating me up alive... After Christmas I am supposed to create a new collection for my press agent... I hope I'll be able to afford it and that I can finish it on time...

I am sick and tiered of working under those circumstanses, creating is supposed to be fun... But I would rather die then give upLinkp cause far to many untalented designers are abusing of the catwalk and it would be ashame to let them rule in peace...

I'm bringing poetry back.... count on that..."

A qoute from a Very special person and of that, Designer. You can follow her process HERE. A designer I Highly respect. As a person with values but too one with the Most talent to go with it. She is one of those.....one of those untouchable.

If you like my blog, you'll Love hers, which is a diary of a creative process.
