How I Felt A Moment Sunday Night:
"Och jag inser plötsligt, kärlek får man bara se
När tak och väggar rasar in igen i ensamheten
Ensamheten, ensamheten
Ensamheten, ensamheten
Vad är det du egentligen vill säga?
Ensamheten, ensamheten
Hårt mot hårt mot ensamheten"

Today I Was A Flowery Swinging 60's Aristocrat Thanks to Sow's Ear
or....A Flowery Little House on the Prairie as my Dulwich friend Paul called me:)
Today was the first day in a long time that I acutally dressed properly...it's been SO cold and I have felt Exhausted.
What did cheer me up was this dress from Mari's label Sow's Ear:) I have felt beautiful today for the first time in a while. Thank you Mari!
I asked Mari to give me a background to her label; how & why she started it. She gave me this:):
QUOTE:
"Sow's Ear happened because normal clothes bore me to tears. When I see a garment made from pleasing fabric, but a painfully unflattering shape, I feel compelled to take the scissors to it and liberate it from it's prison of uglydowdypinchyitchytootightness. And for the time that I am cutting it up, the world could end and I wouldn't give a fig. I revert to being the 3 year old pulling eggshells out of the bin and crushing them in my hands cos I liked the texture. Clothes are friends who you want to hang out with cos they make you smile, keep you warm, allow you to edit the awfulshamefulcringey bits of who you are. They let others see flickers of your soul, your frame of reference. I spent at least 2 years in my twenties wearing one pair of postman's dungarees. I couldn't seem to leave the house without them on, even staying in crying when they were in the washing machine, rather than go to the pub in something else, something that might show something of me that I didn't want to be seen.

So really, when I make something, I am allowing part of my internal
landscape to be realised. I don't try to force the fabric to do
something. I let it do what it wants to. If I try to impose my will on
it, my mojo goes out the window and I hate whatever monster I create.
But if I follow the meditative purpose of " No Me" then after a while I
see that I have made something that I want to wear, that makes me feel
like me. Ludicrous that I have to sneak up on my own creativity, but if
it
works"
I Love This Spirit of Mari:) More info on her is to be read HERE.
I am wearing a dress by Sow's Ear, Darimeya flowery top with Peter Pan collar and Mary Janes by Office.

Inspiration Friday is Mademoiselle Ellen Rogers
This talented young lady, Ellen Jane Rogers, is a very dear friend of mine. I love her.
I Adore these images. Especially the last image which Lovely Ellen gave me printed out and framed.
ELLEN ROGERS
Artist wise, she has influence my own work tremendously; me just watching her. She knows Exactly what she wants before a shoot & she always gets it. One time it was so cold to do a whole shoot outside here in my garden, so she thought we could shoot inside my house...I was just like NO:):) Obviously she got her way... and the images she took in here are Amazing (story to be seen HERE). Noone would be able to see that they were taken in here in my tiny little studio. She works miracles.
We have done some work together (you can view a couple of them here, here & here). All images here though she has created with other stylists/ teams. A while ago I created an interview with her for Alice in Wonderland wich can be read HERE.
Enjoy This For Your Weekend.
Other Inspiration Friday's:

Camille Bidault-Waddington

Kristamas Klousch

OBSESSION: Valentino's Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection
My love for the house of Valentino has been a constant ever since Pierpaolo Piccioli & Maria Grazia Chiuri took over the house from Monsieur Valentino himself; whom I expect must be so proud over his two successors. The house is in safe hands. There is pure romantic brilliance in every single collection they create. I'd love for one of these exquisite dresses/ gowns to be mine.
This is what makes me dream away all day long:)
VALENTINO
Enjoy the beauty.

Love of Today: Sow's Ear
This package arrived yesterday:)
When I went to Brighton last week I fell madly in love with this "eco couture" label called Sow's Ear by a Mari; and in particular this 60's style emerald green tweed swing dress. The dress is made from a skirt that used to belong to an aristocrat:) Happily I am short enough for a skirt be made into a dress. I am so In Love with this new member of my family.
All of Sow's Ear designs are one offs so you'd never see someone else in the same creation as you plus to re-use fabric is such a wonderful thing to do in today's waste society. Mari also alters the clothing for you for free if needed.
